How long does it take to get a substitute teaching license?
I live in Indiana and I applied (and paid) for a substitute teaching license on July 24th. When I check the status of the application it says "school material review" and classes for the students start tomorrow so I would like to be able to start soon. I have emailed the LVIS and haven't heard back. I was just wondering if it is normal to wait this long for a license?

I would call them directly. Oftentimes these organizations frankly don't care about your individual application as long as they are making their money. This is not ALWAYS true though. One thing I might suggest is to see if any of the districts/schools you will be subbing in have a liaison with LVIS who can help get this pushed through for you. I know for me, my full teaching license took about 75 days to come. I should think a sub license should take much less than that. Good luck!
