Need a little help with picking out a laptop :)?

So im going laptop shopping soon and ive been looking around and found somethings i like, but i need some opinions from people who have had experience with them. And well since most teenagers have laptops i thought this would be a good place to ask :)

So my top three brands: Gateway, Asus, or HP. Does anyone have experience with these Brands ?

Thanks :)

Update:

I guess i should explain what ill be doing with it. Lol. Im going to college in September, so id need it for school work, researching, papers, ect. Of course id be watching movies and downloading, but i dont need anything too over the top. lol.

Asus! Asus is the best, I built a computer and used as many Asus components as I could. If I was going to buy a laptop I would buy an Asus. I am a die hard Asus fan haha! give a price range and I could suggest one far ya. Asus is a little more on the pricey side.

I just got a hp envy touchsmart. It has an intel core i7 fourth generation processor!! You should look into an i7 processor. Maybe screen resolution of 1080P. Also consider if you want a touch screen(I like my touch screen) and decide if you need an ultra book( if your gonna be taking it to a lot of different places then I recommend an ultra book). Hp is really good! Also asus is top of the line. Also consider a Sony vaio!!

You might as well forget about those brands. Cause they kinda suck. HP is decent good laptops.

Personally I LOVE Toshiba! It's a good laptop brand. It has high quality for gaming, and is great with my schoolwork. Sadly my dumb family broke it. I would get it from best buy cause it's cheaper there for 279.99. Or Walmart for 278.00.

Though if I had to choose HP. The other brands suck a** I would know cause my friends have them, and I used it. It sucked that badly.

    Edit:

Sorry to say that if you are doing that much on your computer then you would need a high quality brand. Again recommend toshiba.

HP for sure. But if your using it for documents, movies, and research, I'd recommend getting with a Intel Pentinium or Intel i3. Anything above that is overkill.
