can the 3DS version of monster hunter play online with wii version?
I heard that it can play online with the wiiu version, but I want to know if it will play with just a normal wii as well.

No, just the Wii u version. Also, you need a Wii u in order to play online at all. The 3ds has no online gameplay for monster Hunter normally, you have to relay the internet from the Wii u
