Can you recommend an electrical drill?

I am looking for a +++HEAVY DUTY+++ drill; a real powerhouse with lots of torque. I will be using it primarily to drill holes in brick/masonry (like that found on a house) of 6" - 10" using concrete core drill bits (something like this : http://www.ebay.ca/itm/10-Wet-Concrete-Diamond-Cor...

Can you please recommend a drill for me? Be sure to include the following :

- Brand Name

- Model #

- Price

- Link (if possible)

Thanks!

This a very specialized drill that is probably a 2 hp unit and may also be a magnetic base unit. Not cheap at all, possibly in the $1000 range or maybe more. Try a search for core drill at the specialty construction companies. Maybe Fastenal is a place to start. Other than that IDK.

You should be able to gain much of this information from your training classes. Core drilling takes some planning and experience. It is a good trade but at times hard and heavy work.

A Dewalt or Milwaukee drill you might already have or can find at Home Depot or Lowes will still be able to drill through brick with that head. Brick is easier to cut through than you think.

Go to the tool rental and see what they are using for such a job. They're not going to buy junk for repeated uses so go with whatever they are using.
