what content is appropriate in a maid of honor speech?
My best friend is getting married and i have been brain storming some ideas of what to say. Her grandma passed away about a year ago, and they were really close. I know she wishes she could be there. I was thinking of saying something like "Your grandma would have been so proud to see you with someone who makes you happy". I wasn't sure if something like that would be appropriate or stepping on toes in a speech like this. Any advice/ suggestions/ whatever, I'm all ears. Thanks in advance.

You could always talk to your best friend, and see how she feels about Grandma being mentioned in the speech. If you feel uncomfortable with that, then I would go with what feels right. If you feel that some people may be put off my mentioning Grandma, then I wouldn't mention her at all. You can always tell your friend in private later, how you feel.
I hope this helps!

Did you know her grandmother? How has the bride taken her death? If it has been very hard on her then perhaps mentioning it would put a damper on the cheerful atmosphere. Personally, I would leave that out.
