How many people do you know that have had their hours cut due to obamacare?

Update:

Well I can't afford health insurance and my boss cut my hours to avoid it. When it is a mandate what should I do to pay for it

Update 2:

are you guys just talking about people benefiting from being on your parents insurance until 26? Most likely hipsters.

Update 3:

Ashleigh, I have about 12 friends and family that have been affected, but I guess its conservatives fault. I thought after Obama won, liberals would wise up and question obamacare. Just wait until the jobs report "looks great" with garbage holiday part timers getting 20 hours a week in a couple months

Update 4:

and James I believe you can't read...but unlike you, I knew before people were affected....but most people don't care until it affects them. By the way, I'm self employed. Just trying to be sarcastic. I'm in my 20s and people in their 20s are the dumbest ones. Just need to wake up

    IT’S A MYTH

Obamacare has a provision requiring that employees who work 30+

hours per week receive heath care sponsored by the employer.

So some employers have cut employees’ hours down to 29/week.

HERE IS WHAT YOU ARE MISSING.

These employers were never offering health care anyway but they

were still employing workers for 40-hour work-weeks.

So now they will employ those same workers for 29 hours per week.

They employer is cutting down the hours of their workers so they will

not have to offer health care coverage which they never offered anyway.

    THE RESULT

So the result is that people who worked one job for 40 hours per week

with no health care are now going to have to work two part-time jobs

for a total of 40 hours per week with no health care.

Many of these people will end up finding new opportunities and leaving

the first employer. This will make many of these ‘first employers’

uncomfortable and they will decide to make many of these people,

who are willing to leave, permanent full-time workers so that they don’t

    lose the good workers.

Many of the people who will end up working 29 hours per week will

not even look for a second job but instead will be happy with the

extra free day they will now have.

My nephew had his hours slashed. When he asked why, the answer was Obama care. When he protested he was STILL covered by his parents medical insurance, his boss sympathized, but left his hours slashed. I am sure, if you REALLY want to find out about the impact, you CAN. But, I really believe you have NO interest in learning how badly people are being affected---OR how many.

"Half of small businesses said they would cut full-time employee’s hours or replace them with part-time workers in order to avoid paying for health insurance under President Obama's healthcare law, according to a recent survey from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce."

    0.

How many people are benefitting from it? Millions.

  • Zero. That only happens in the frenzied minds of the right wing echo chamber.

Not a single person. Since you are a conservative, I bet you think you know thousands of people.

    None.

I know several service members who have had their hours cut due to republican austerity and sequester demands.
