In the movie there was a part I did not understand, it was where the officers got called to a house with the two children "missing." The cops were given permission to search the home by the owners and the children were found in the closet tied up and tape across there mouth. Can somebody help me.

the mother was on crack so she had forgotten what had happen to her kids. while she was high, either her or her boyfriend decided to put the kids in the closet in order to keep them quiet. her boyfriend remembered this and that is why he wanted the cops to leave. when she came down she did not remember what she had done to her kids, so she called the cops and reported them missing. then Brian found out that they were not missing.
