Where to buy golf clubs?

I'm just starting to play golf (three times at a range) and need to get my own iron. Doesn't have to be particularly good, but where should I look? Whats an ideal price range? Will Goodwill quality pass?

I'm a true amateur, so I won't likely notice the difference in performance.

If you're just starting out, you should look at yard sales. You may get a reasonable set for a decent price.

If you go to a golf shop, you will either pay a lot for a good set, or you will pay not so much for a not very good set.

After you play for a year or two, you'll get an idea of how serious you want to be. You can upgrade to a better quality (and more expensive set) when you're ready to.

you need to go into a shop, like golf city and try out different sets. You cannot accurately purchase a golf set suitable for you otherwise. You can go in and find what you want in the shop and then source it cheaper online. Different clubs have different weights and are geared towards specific levels of players. You should talk to a professional.

If you want to go to a brick and mortar store, search on google with these keyprhase "golf store (your area)".
