I would like a step by step procedure to sue a bank for defamation. Can anybody guide me ?

A bank has been harassing me for an unpaid credit card payment, by talking to my neighbors trying to tarnish my image and reputation. Is this allowed by law and if not then can I do something about it ?

Update:

The bank has charged me for something that I have not used and the matter is disputed that's why I have not paid them.

So Einstein... let me see if I have a clear understanding. You're delinquent on your CC payments, the bank is making an effort to recover the payments you owe them and you're so f**king stupid that you think you can sue them for that. Yeah dude.. sure. Go ahead and try and sue. I'm sure it'll be the most entertaining thing the court has seen in a while. So what can you do about it? You can stop being a whiny douchebag and pay them what you legally owe them. I know that's just crazy talk but perhaps you might consider it. Anything else I can clear up for you?

Have negotiation with the Bank for settlement of your dues to the extent you owe to them on easy instalments. Of course they must have hurt your feelings but it may not be a defamation case which warrants legal action.

Banks are keeping our money and ornaments safe and they must be appreciated because these institutions give us interest too.
