Do you believe God came to earth as his own Son and then prayed to himself back in heaven?

"One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God." (Luke 6:12)

Update:

Scot, are you saying that Jesus prayed to himself?

Jesus made it clear that God and Jesus are two different persons. Jesus also taught us that God is greater than Jesus. Both live in God's kingdom in the spirit realm.

-This question requires lack of knowledge in reference to the Trinity because no Christian believes that Jesus is God the Father, nor that Jesus prayed to himself, nor that he send himself, nor that he was his own Father or his own Son. It is the Watchtower which are deceiving you to believe things which are not true.

The Trinitarianism is not Sabellianism or Modalism which teach that Gos is one single person who reveals under three different names and denying, therefore, the distinction of the three persons of the Holy Trinity. It is not Patriopasionism either, which teachs that who suffered and died at the cross was the Father, indeed, it was the Son.

-The Bible establish clearly the difference between the Father and the Son, for example Jesus himself said in Mat 5:16 that the Father was in heavens,so he could not be God the Father. There are a distinction between the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit (John 14:26), they are not the same person but One God.Within the being of God there are three persons who share the same nature essence and attributes as defined by Webster’s Dictionary, is “the union of the three divine persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) in one Godhead.”

So when you see a distinction between the Father and the Son, don't strive to show it to us because we do not have any problem with that. For example, in 1 Tim 5:21 there is a clear distinction between the God the Father Jesus and all the angels, so Jesus is neither God the Father nor an angel.

This question demonstrates that you're not making an effort to engage what Trinitarian Christians believe and to know the beliefs between the different religions denominations ans sects.

Here you have two pictures where the Trinity can be understood perfectly. The Father the Son and the Holy Spirit are distincts persons, not the same, but only one being.

The idea that God is "three in one" is a false idea that came about as the result of the nicene creed. It is from this creed that many generations thereafter inherited an incorrect understanding of who God the Father is, who Christ is, and who the Holy Ghost is. I do not see any evidence in the scriptures that supports the idea of the trinity. Rather, I see evidence which points towards the correct nature of the Godhead, and this is that they are three separate personages. The scripture you mentioned in Luke is perfect, and I would add Matthew 3:15-17 at the baptism of Christ; Christ's experience in Gethsemane praying to the Father, Matthew 26:39; and Stephen's death when he saw Christ standing on the right hand of the Father, Acts 7:54-57. There are other numerous examples in the scriptures of the true nature of the Godhead, and without this correct understanding we cannot truly understand God and our relationship to Him.

i myself examine the previous 33 responses. The info looks overwhelming, and that i agree, Jesus=God=Holy Spirit. Jesus is likewise suggested as the Lamb of God. of course he become no longer a sheep. Jesus is declared as the Prince of Peace, and additionally the King of Kings. How can he be the two a prince and a king on an identical time? A contradiction? No. His countless names are used to describe the indescribable (in human words). our lord god Almighty!! Peace out. p.s. some great solutions interior the 1st 33, and a couple of duds.

Here is how the trinity works…..

    Heavenly Truth:

God = the son (jesus) + Father + Holly spirit………….One God not three Gods

God : the son (jesus) - Luke 1:35, John 3:16, 1 John 5:20 (see names of God below)

defines individual personality of the SON (Jesus) - God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 ). He is the savior.

God: the father - 2 corinthians 6:18, Romans 8:15, 1 John 3:1 (See names of God below)

Defines the individual personality of the father - All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away (John 6:37). He does the calling.

God: the Holy spirit – Matthew 3: 16-17, Acts 5: 3-4, Romans: 16-17 (see names of God below)

Defines the individual personality of the holy spirit - But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (john 16:13)

One in essence.... all co-equal (one no more important that the other)…each with a specific job to do (individual personality)…all need to agree in order to get the job done.

Earthly example (so that you may understand):

US government = Legistrative branch + executive branch + judicial branch……..One US Governments not three US governments.

US government: legistrative branch (responsibilities of the legistrative branch define its personality)

US government: executive branch (responsibilities of the executive branch define its personality)

US government: Judicial branch (Responsibilities of the judicial branch define its personiality)

The bible does teach the truth of the trinity..if you can answer yes to any of these questions with a yes answer, then maybe it isn’t true?

    1. Can the US do something God can’t do…?

    2. Is not all things possible with God?

    3. Is God not the creator of all things?

Another example of a triune existence…humans are said in scripture to exist in the following components.

Body…. world consciousness (the body has its function that define its personality)

Soul…..self-consciousness (The soul has its functions that define its personality)

Spirit…..God consciousness (The spirit has its functions that define its personality)

I Thessalonians 5: 23 -- And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto [at] the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Genesis 2: 7 -- And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground ... (body)

Genesis 2: 7 -- And the Lord God formed man [man's body] of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Soul)

Genesis 1: 27 -- So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (Spirit)

Verses where Jesus is said to be God, just 4 verses here do you need more….?

Luke 4:12: Jesus answered, "It is said: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test

Matthew 4-7: Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'"

Titus 1:3: It is by the command of God our Savior that I have been entrusted with

John 20:28 Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

    Mark 2: 1-12, mark 14: 60-62, Luke 22: 67 – 70, John 18:33-37, John 10:30, John 14:9, John 14:10, Revelation 19:16

Names of God (God goes by many names to many to list here):

As much as I believe in Santa, unicorns, fairy godmothers, tooth fairy, leprechauns, Easter bunny. The Jesus one stuck because it gave xtians an excuse to be narcissists. People would rather pretend to be good rather than actually care about their fellow human beings.

The truth is god is one with no partners and he only deserves to be worshiped. And we were created to worship him.

(I'll try to summarized this because i personally dislike reading a lot)

God created Adam told angels to prostrate everyone prostrate except Satan. He is to arrogant and thinks his better then Adam and in his arrogance he disobeys God. He main goal is to get Adams offsprings to worship others with God. He whispers to Adam to eat forbidden tree and Adam eats and is punished by being put on earth and he asks for forgiveness and is forgiven by god. After generations of people worshiping one God alone Satan whispers for people to start making pictures or statues of righteous people so people can remember their righteous deeds and worship god alone better. After a couple more generations he whispers to them that their parents worshiped these pictures or idols. So god sends down prophets in different times with the same message which is worship one god and don't give him partners

    some of the messengers

Noah had miracles, few followed most people didnt follow and made lies about him

Moses had miracles, few followed most people didnt follow and made lies about him

Ibrahim had miracles, few followed most people didnt follow and made lies about him

Jesus had miracles, few followed most people didnt follow and made lies about him

So the meaning of life is to worship god alone with no partners (no wife son or middleman)

and you are already have way to the truth because you are looking for it unlike a lot of people who just worship what ever there parents and grandparents worshiped.

It still ended up being long but if you have any questions just contact me(that's if you didn't sleep through it :P)

The mystery's of faith an GOD are beyond human comprehension.

You can't see the wind, but you know it is there because you can see what the wind is doing. You can know that the wind is there because you can feel it.God is like the wind, you can't see him.

That sounds as stupid as the whole trinity lie.
