a republican running for president was born in Canada. is this hypocrisy?
the republicans drilled Obama for four years plus for being born in Hawaii. a us state. now a republican running for president that was born in Canada. and were all just supposed to say oh well. a natural born citizen. to run. but he was not born here but he was a citizen. but not natural. wheres the republican outrage? his mom was a citizen. i want to hear it. tell me how out rage from republicans. otherwise this will be the biggest hypocrisy ever.

ethena- they asked for his birth certificate and Obama gave it to them. and that was not good enough. so they got it from the hospital he was born at. and the republican that is running fully admits to being born in a another nation. its on his birth certificate. the facts are real stop bringing obama in it and condemn this republican for trying to run. like you did obama.

No, I think Obama set a precedent.
You DON"t have to prove you were born in the U.S. to be President.
Too bad the press can't ask for proof of citizenship, like a birth certificate or anything.
They kind of dropped the ball on that one.

I SO agree. The Republicans targeted Obama for being born in Obama, and even questioned that. Ted Cruz is born in CANADA, a FOREIGN NATION, and shouldn't even be constitutionally eligible whatsoever to run.

Yeah, I don't believe Ted Cruz is actually eligible to be president, because he was born in the U.S., and I do believe that the people who support his run are a bit hypocritical.
That being said, it isn't necessarily true that all Ted Cruz supporters were also vocal about doubting Obama's citizenship, and come 2016 I don't think he will actually be getting the Republican nomination for this reason.
It's also important to remember that the next presidential election isn't in three years, its stupid that everyone is so hung up on the next race already.

Misinformation, the problem was he was claiming to be Be born in hawaii, where the birth certificate isn't very reliable while he was actually born in kenya, so a canadian president isn't much different......i was at the zoo and i saw an african lion , the other day i saw Obama the lying african.

1) Ted Cruz (like Obama) is an American citizen. You're wasting your time.
2) He hasn't declared himself a candidate in 2016. That's still three years off. You're wasting your time.

1st off let me point out that there are no republican candidates yet.
2nd: under the constitution US citizens born abroad to US parents are natural US citizens.
for example:
lets say your mother was visiting Japan and happened to go into labor. you would still be a US citizen eligible to run for the office of the presidency.
in Ted Cruz's case he was born in Canada while his parents were temporarily working in the oil industry thus legally making him a US citizen.

Hypocrisy, thy name is Obama. This president may have been born in the U.S.... may have been.. but his father was not a citizen and he went to school in Indonesia where he was listed as a citizen .... at least this republican is being open and honest about it.. he is a true American, but because he was born in Canada, by their law he is considered Canadian too.. he will renounce it.. no big deal.. Obama will continue to lie.
For Democrats to make a big deal over it is laughable!!!

They got ahold of Cruz way back in high school and got him to pretend to be an insane right-winger for many years - all so he could enact “socialized health care!!!” Oh, no! If you complain about our government doing bad things but don't wanna do anything to fix the problem. That makes you part of the problem.
If you complain about our government doing bad things but don't wanna do anything to try and fix the problems. Then you have no right to complain about them. The only people that have the right to complain about our governments problems are the people trying to fix them.
