Can I cap the top of my block foundation without causing any trouble with it ?

There is a draft coming out of it with cold air in the winter. I am also concerned thatt radon is coming out of there as well. The previous owner has glued styrofoam insulating board over the block on the inside walls od the basement. That is also sheet rocked over.. I am concerned with possible moisture damage if I cap it off. Any experts out there ?

Typically walls need to breath/vent. If your wall is still sealed well on the outside, below grade, you should be fine. If you have never had a wet joint at the floor, you should be fine. If you run a dehumidifier you will be fine to cap as well.

I would say cap it off, and get a dehumidifier.

Note; when you cap off one cell, the air can move to the adjacent cells very easy. Most of the time, the block are laid with mortar only on the faces, which leaves the center web open. So you may need to cap more than you bargain for.

Capped some of mine off, others I just filled with sand, never had any issues.
