why have a 7th level at all if all the benefits are EXACTLY the same as level 6?

The 7 levels are based on the 7 levels of karate, a whimsical decision made early on in the programming of the site, due to the "unofficial" mascot being used by the programmers. Which was a battery-operated dancing karate hamster. Hence, the origin of the levels and the Official Yamster mascot we now have. Such is the result of long, sleepless nights and too much coffee, one has to assume.

We can also assume that at SOME point, it was thought that there would be a differentiation between those highest levels. Back when there were NO limits on Level 5 and above, there was no difference at all as you got to the higher levels. Then, they finally imposed limits on ALL levels, but still didn't change anything between 6 and 7. Probably because of the endless spaghetti-code loops that would only result in even more glitches than we already are subject to.

Bottom line, the entire thing is arbitrary, so why worry about it anyway?

they probably was thinking 400 was a good limit to give quality votes and still be able to answer 80 questions

Every level should have a higher something they should raise how votes level 7 can make

because there are 7 levels in karate - notice the Yamster's garb..that's what's what it is based upon. and for the recored, the points and everything else is pointless, from 1 point to a million..all pointless points. who cares?
