Well, M*A*S*H wound if its run in the 80's and that is a truly classic show.

Cosby was the biggest hit of the decade, and while the show was very good, whether you like or not will depend on how much of a Bill Cosby fan you are.

Taxi was on in the early 80's...Christopher Lloyd is a scream.

Seinfeld came on the air in '89, so I guess that qualifies too...that's one of the funniest shows of all time.

Newhart, the one that's set in Vermont, with the characters Larry, Darryl and Darryl, was a very funny show, and had maybe the best final episode of all time, except for MASH.

Let me see...what else did I enjoy back then? There was Night Court and the Jeffersons, and Married with Children. If you wanted a little more drama in your viewing, Dallas was 100 times better than its lame remake. In the Heat of the Night was an excellent cop show, and it was fun to watch Carroll O'Conner play someone besides Archie Bunker.

Trapper John, M.D. was the only successful spin-off from MASH...I liked that show a lot. Oh, and Murder She Wrote...nobody was really sure if Angela Lansbury would be any good for TV, coming from movies and Broadway. She was great as Jessica Fletcher.

If you're wanting some mindless, trashy fun, there's The A-Team, Dukes of Hazzard and Magnum P.I.

There are a lot of other shows from that decade that were very good, but that's a start.

Oh, btw...MacGyver was excellent, but Rosanne sucked. She gets on my last @#$%ing nerve.
