Would a Mata and Rooney swap deal be great for both United and City?
Imagine a United line up that looks like this:

Zaha----Kagawa-----Mata
----Carrick-----Fellaini (this transfer is inevitable IMO)
Evra----Vidic---Jones----Rafael
---------De Gea
And for Chelsea:
---------------Rooney
De Bruyne-----Oscar--------Hazard
---------Ramires--------Lampard
Cole-------Luiz-----Ivanovic-------Azpilicueta
---------------Cech
All I can see are positives for both sides. Even though I do not want Rooney to go to Chelsea, if it does end up happening then a swap deal with Mata would be good.

If we sign Juan Mata, then I hope we line up like you say.
Juan Mata can play well on e the wing too, and our current winger have been poor, so it could work.
If we sell Rooney to Chelsea FC, then I hope we get Juan Mata in return.

if man city have a say in juan mata joining man united then i guess the transfer policy has gone insane. anyway, because you meant to say chelsea, who the hell ever said they wanted to sell mata to united?? nobody, i guess it's all in your imagination, yes obviously it would be good for united, i would probably take mata over rooney anyway, it would be close, but if rooney is'nt interested in playing at united and wants the move to chelsea, then why would'nt united take mata?? i get your question, but it's almost pointless when chelsea have not said they are selling mata ....

I only read about the possibility of a swap deal today. I would say it is quite unlikely but stranger transfers have happened.
There is no doubt about the quality of the player; Mata has been a top-class player ever since he arrived.
Let us wait and see
