what does apple care plus check when you replace a phone?

my iphone got stolen, i have apple care plus... and they can replace it with a $200 deductible... my friend gave me an iphone, but it is on a different service provider.. i was wondering if i can take it in as damaged and have apple care replace it for my $50 deductible instead of $200

    jailbroke.

    those are the thing they check.

    you cant exchange a iphone with a diff serial number than yours.
