Xbox Red Ring of Death question?
Yesterday my xbox had 3 red lights and a green center which I looked up and saw it was a hardware malfunction and it has to be repaired. But this morning, my brother said he fixed it by purposefully overheating it by stopping the fans. It that actually a way to fix it? and will it work normally for a while?

Yes, that is a way to fix it, but but only temporary. (Opening the case and using a hairdryer on the GPU) Make sure you change the thermal paste.
Usually it will "die" again after a while (days/weeks).
Sometimes it won't even show a "ring-of-anything" the second time around.

If you want your Xbox to stay repaired unless something happens to it you will probably need to give it to Microsoft.
