What do you think about the name Ryan for a girl?
I've always wanted to name my daughter Ryan, but people always give me funny looks when I talk about it. What's your honest opinion? Any feedback is appreciated, Thank you!

No, the name isn't acceptable for a girl. Save it for a son. I think it's awful on a girl, and I know if I was a girl called Ryan I'd be embarrassed of the name. Just because you think a name might be nice on one gender doesn't mean that it is socially acceptable (hence the funny looks from others). Please, there are plenty of pretty and feminine names out there for a daughter... use one of them.

I like it but don't you think it's too boyish?
Try these names instead:
1- Riley
2- Rheanna
3- Roniya
4- Rana
5- Raine
6- Rayna
7- Rania
8- Rena
9- Renae
10- Rowan
11- Roena
12- Reenie
13- Riana
14- Rihanna

I know a couple of girls named Ryan, one is spelled Ryanne. Teachers are constantly mispronouncing them. And their families are quite a bit country.
The welsh name Rhiannon is much more beautiful and historical for a little girl, and Rhi is a very cute nickname.

Ryan is ugly for a girl. It's just too masculine. Not to mention a girl called Ryan would always be mistaken for being a boy and would get sick of it.

Sure but only if you name your son Sophia.
(I'm using sarcasm by the way)
Ryan is ridiculous for a girl. Please leave the boys names to the boys.

I like that name for a girl but if it was me, to avoid funny looks, if give her a name that can be shortened to Ryan for a nickname then call her Ryan from a young age so it would stick.
But it is a really great name for a girl. Unusual.
