I just put ubuntu on my old computer and now the wireless does not work on it?
I think the problem is with the driver but I don't know how to get the driver with out the internet.
Oh yay it is a HP Pavilion dv6000

It is most likely the driver, which you will have to copy from another computer with a usb stick, or you can download using a wired connection.
It could also be a problem with your config file at /etc/network/interfaces (you will have to open it as a superuser to be able to save it; type: sudo gedit, then find it in the directory mentioned). Check to see if wlan0 is enabled.
