They are about a million over the cap for this year, and need to get down there by season start. Niskanen or Orpik seem most likely as the trade options to cut their payroll and get return. Most of their top prospects are defenders so replacing one is likely.

Very likely. Penguins GM has hinted at it a few times but it obviously depends on his play this season. If he doesn't show great improvement, he should be gone by the deadline.

I heard supposedly he was being signed for another 2 years.
But they are over there cap.
So it is a possibility.
