So, Christians, what's the logic behind the Bible's denouncement for homosexuality?

Many biblical scholars believe that Paul was homosexual and hated this aspect of his personality.

From some of the things that he wrote in his letters I can see where this idea is coming from.

Even in modern times it is proven time and again that the most vocal anti gay thumpers are often closet homosexuals who feel guilty about the perfectly normal feelings that they are having.

Often they are caught in the act so to speak and outed in the most cruel and embarrassing ways.

Well, first of all I am a Christian, but an open minded one. I denounce Religion as being an institution, and therefore Faith and Religion are two separate entities. I actually defend homosexuality with every occasion, but I can tell you why the majority of Christians believe it is wrong. Most of them take the Bible literally and this is their primary argument: God made man and woman, therefore it justifies that there can't be couples of the same sex. Also, God made his will known, and that is that we should procreate as much as possible and you can't do that in gay relationships. And I read from someone who explained a quote from the Bible that it is considered a sin, because a man shouldn't treat another man as he would treat a woman; and therefore lying with another man to satisfy your carnal pleasure would be considered something demeaning to him. This would be the actual sin and not the sodomy itself. But in my opinion, if God is as loving as we are all made to believe he should love you even if you kiss another man/woman.

God made you and therefore knows what's best for you and your body. If He says homosexuality is bad for you, it's as logical to take His word for it as it is to take the word of an instruction manual that says percussive maintenance will not work on a given electronic device. It is erroneous to assume that the creator of something does NOT know more about how that something works than does the operator.

God denounces sin. In his eyes it doesn't matter if the sin is a lie, is theft, is laziness, is extra-marital sex, homosexuality or even things left undone. The point is; we have all sinned. We are all in a sinful condition. That is why God sent His Son, Jesus to die for our sins so that we might have life.

God loves the sinner, but hates the sin.

The ancients were scrambling to populate the earth, and homosexuality was seen as going against that goal (for obvious reasons). I think there was also a "ewww" factor. Of course, neither of those even remotely comes close to logic.

God designed sex as the way of creation and perpetuation of mankind and designed it to be in the marriage covenant between a man and his wife where there is safety to raise children. God set the laws of desire and pleasure along with the laws of sex.

Homosexuality is a perversion or how God designed mankind to live. Period.
