write log(2x^2y^3) as a sum of logarithms I have no idea how to start

    If you mean

    log((2*x)^2*(y^3))

    then Jos J is correct.

    But I wonder if you mean

    log((2*(x^2)*(y^3))

    If so, then the answer is

    log(2) + 2*log(x) + 3*log(y) <<<

    Log[4] + 2Log[x] + 3Log[y]
