Which metal is the one in front of me?

Hello, I'm preparing a lab report for physics where I am suppossed to determine the constitution of a sphere given by calculating its density.

In the literature, we have that the density of Iron and steel is basically the same, so, how do I physically distinguish one from the other?

Update:

I know, I misstyped the question. Sorry. Given the physical appearence, which metal is darker than the other, I know one of them looks more platinum, while the other one looks a bit darker, something like that..

If the densities are essentially the same - you cannot disinguish between iron and steel by calculating density.
