what is the average dealer markup on cruiser style MC in the US?
That's pretty much the gist of it-I'm dealing on a new MC & trying to determine how much "wiggle room" the dealer has. A friend in the business indicates that the markup on add-ons is 200-300 % but I haven't been able to determine what the markup on the base price is. I know everyone has to make a profit but it doesn't have to be all from me.

On a used bike, it can be pretty high, but on a new bike, most dealerships don't have a ton of 'wiggle room'. On some models that they are trying to get rid of (in areas that the bikes aren't suited, like dirtbikes in urban cities), they may mark down and sell at a loss, but in general, you might not get more than a few hundred dollars off (200-300).

Oh so lame! I love people like you - firstly you stand out as soon as you speak so I double the prices again and let you negotiate whatever small discount you can manage.
