Which boat to buy for water skiing?
I'm am looking for a small, light, low-profile bowrider with an outboard that I can use for water skiing. Any suggestions? So far I am considering the Campion Chase 500OB and the Glastron GT/GTL160. Do you know of any other similar boats that I might look at? Thanks!
I'm only interested in outboards because inboards are way too heavy and I'd rather buy new than used to ensure I get something that hasn't been abused.
I'm not going to be competing in tournaments; I just want to go to the lake with my friends on the weekend and have some fun on the water.

If you insist on having a outboard type of ski boat, get a Ski Ray. Having an outboard style ski boat isn't a good way to participate in the sport. While you can ski behind that kind of boat, it has a larger wave than a boat designed for the sport. I'd prefer a dedicated sport boat for the sport.

If you want to ski, buy a real ski boat specially made for it. Get a Ski Nautique, Malibu Skier or Mastercraft. They pull the skier better than any other type of boat. Ski Nautiques are our family's favorite. You can get good used ones at a reasonable price, Just look for low hours on the engine.
