In John F. Kennedy's speech, "We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things..."?
What did he mean by "do the other things"? I've never heard an explanation of what those other things were.
4 AnswersHistory2 years agoHow to get this on his credit report?
Deadbeat tenant left the property without being evicted but owes over $4500 in back rent. He has no job or anything worth going after. About how much would a judgment cost in Minnesota, and is that how one gets it placed on his credit report? Never had to do this before, but I want this guy penalized somehow.
6 AnswersRenting & Real Estate2 years agoWhy don't ALL government workers just stop going to work?
Especially the ones who work at the White House and throughout Washington, DC? Once you inconvenience the folks in Washington, they will get something done. Why don't they all band together, because they would have real power if they'd do that.
8 AnswersPolitics2 years agoAren't they slaves?
If government employees are expected to go to work even without pay, isn't that the definition of slavery?

3 AnswersOlympics3 years agoCan anyone tell me how to fix a page that has all the words overlapping/running over the top of each other?
It's ONLY on Yahoo Answers and no other site, and it's been coming up like this for weeks. I can't use the site because of this. I can't even get help because it's unclickable due to so many different things overlapping. Ideas?
1 AnswerOther - Yahoo Products4 years agoDoes it seem to you like investors are "panic buying"?
Stocks just keep going up and up; do you think people are buying in for fear of losing out? It's not doing what I expected at all since the election, other than that giant but very short-lived drop the morning after the election.

Will she be kicked off, or is it negotiable? Married 29 years, if that makes a difference.

5 AnswersChristmas4 years agoWhen did people begin starting their sentences with the word, "So"?
It's annoying. It reminds me of when people were overusing the word, "Like". Has anyone else noticed this?

2 AnswersSeattle6 years agoIf you "sell in May and go away", when are you traditionally supposed to buy back in?
I've only heard the "sell" part, not when the market usually picks up again. Just wondering if there's a flipside to this saying, as in "when to buy". Not that things have gone traditionally the past few years...
7 AnswersInvesting8 years agoIs anybody about to switch to Direct TV?
I just switched since Dish Network got too expensive, plus they are cutting off AMC channel, which has my favorite show (Breaking Bad). If you call 1-877-212-6179 and mention my account number (052873861), they'll give you $100 off when you start service! I get $100 off, too, so it benefits everybody involved. I've been with them for 2 months now and have been happy. Give it a shot if you're going to start service or switch anyway. Thanks! : )
3 AnswersTVs9 years agoWhat to do when wrongly accused?
My friend's ex-wife keeps accusing him of sexually abusing their 3 year-old girl so she can get full custody (it's 50-50 now). She has taken the child to several doctors who all have stated there was no evidence of abuse. The ex-wife is mentally ill and has psychological issues and is currently on probation for beating up the child's 75 year-old babysitter (enough to put her in the hospital). I know both these parents well and know that her accusations are false. What can the father do to stop her from continuing to make false accusations? I know she's going to keep trying stuff until she gets her way. This woman has plenty of money to pay someone off with. Ideas, anyone?
4 AnswersMarriage & Divorce9 years agoHotel lobby challenge?
What sort of material and/or design would you use to create a fairly lightweight piece of artwork (3-D) that would be around 25 feet high that hangs from the ceiling of a hotel lobby? It's at a ski resort. There's all this soaring open space and a piece of art would look really good in there. Ideas, anyone?
4 AnswersSculpture10 years agoCustoms took my son's stuff - is there any compensation?
He just got back to the US from China and customs took all the dvd's and clothes he had bought, even though they were for his own use and not to be resold. It was fake Nike shoes and stuff, etc. and he knew they were fake, but they looked cool anyway. If it's for your own use, why did customs take it? Is there any way to get compensated for all this stuff? He's really upset because he bought and paid for it, and now they have just taken it.
5 AnswersAir Travel1 decade agoMy sister is getting divorced. If it turns out her husband has been cheating on her...?
We all suspect he has been cheating on her, but have no real proof. If he actually has been cheating, can she get extra money in the divorce because of that? I'm just wondering if it would be worth it to hire a private investigator to check up on him. They live in Colorado, by the way.
6 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoDoes anyone know of a FREE website to learn how to...?
How to finish a greenbroke horse, games to play with the horse for bonding and to establish dominance, liberty work, etc.? All I keep coming across are trainer's websites that want me to pay an arm and a leg for their advise. My local library has nothing. I just want to be able to ride my "gift horse" without getting hurt. She isn't any more than green broke and my previous horses were much calmer than her. I don't want to sell her, but if I don't find some wisdom on the internet, it's not looking good. There's 3 feet of snow on the ground now, so I have a month or so to do ground work with her before getting back in the saddle. She's a friendly horse, but knows nothing about paying attention to a rider. A little help, please!
6 AnswersHorses1 decade agoWould people buy wild mice as feeders?
There are lots of mice around my barn and in the field. I'm wondering if people with snakes would buy live-caught wild "organic" mice, or would they be worried about diseases or something else? Same question for chipmunks - we have lots of those, too. So far, I've just been trapping the mice, but it would be nice if they could be used for something.
