Fenders on a 2003 Dodge... Stupid question?

This is potentially a stupid question for all the car "Gods" out there, but I honestly don't know....

2003 Dodge 1500 - are the fenders aluminum, steel, or fiberglass?

And If they are steel or aluminum - and I switch to fiberglass it would lighten my truck weight a little right, in turn lowering my gas mileage right?

Thanks!

Update:

correction: BETTER my gas mileage.... sure don't want to lower it.. LOL

Your fenders are made of steel. Fiberglass wont make much of a difference.

I'm pretty sure they're steel. I don't think going to fiberglass would save enough weight to make a noticeable difference.

I think you might want to raise your gas mileage (?)

Be that as it may lighter fenders would not make a big difference - your biggest issue is aerodynamics - trucks are a brick to push through the air
