Can i overclock my FX-8350 only with 8 pin from the PSU?
I am curious if is enough power to overclock my hungry beast with only 8 pin or do i really need another 4 pin...My MB has 8 pin + 4 pin socket for cpu but my PSU is a bit old and has only the 8 pin...What happens if i OC only with the 8 pin?...Can I? Should I? OR do i really need an adapter from molex to 4 pin cpu?
MB= Asus Crosshair 5 Formula-Z
CPU= FX-8350
RAM= Kingston HyperX Beast @2133 2x8Gb=16GB
PSU= Enermax Liberty Eco2 620W

never overclock with ermax youll fry your psu or motherboard
get a 650w corsair tx

enermax is a duel rail which isnt ment for occing especially if you dont know what rail is connected to what you could end up pulling of 1 of the rails only and damaging it
get a single rail
also noted the fx 8350 is not worth overclocking the performance gain is very little all you will do is hike up your electric bill its a power hog

He is right, thats a crappy psu i would not overclock on it, but the performance from overclocking will definitely be worth it. Corsair is good but so is evga, antec, seasonic,xfx,etc

8 Pin is already more than enough to reach 5GHz.
