I want to date my friend's oldest daughter?

Well, I met my friend's oldest daughter today. He's a student pilot at the local airport; I'm just a 19 year old kid who already has his license. Well, she's 17 - and he's done a great job raising her. She's exactly the kind of person I drool over - conservative, religious, smart, and hates cats (I REALLY hate cats).

Is there a way to date her without - well - screwing up things with her dad?

Well, I'm assuming he's a fair bit older than you so it wouldn't be as weird as if you were his age so for all purposes it could be seen as alright. But to keep in mind he knows you better than some random guy. This can be good or bad, either he knows youre a good person and will do right by her, or that he may feel concern for her for one reason or another (countless different things possible)

Your best bet is to talk to him first, and get his approval, otherwise he may see it as if you thought it was wrong to do so and must be hidden, causing suspicion as to your intentions

Try talking to her and see if she's even interested first. If y'all both feel a connection, she can probably help talk to him as well.
