Fleas on Ferret Need Help?
I live on an Island and it had a BAD flea outbreak, and I am still dealing with an infestation in my home. My ferret has free roam of the house with my other animals, and as they are all on flea treatments, my ferret is picking them up the worst. She doesn't have a cage so I can't cage her. Is there a product out there for ferrets that works wonders for fleas? Also, I am having to bathe her with dish soap every few days ( which i KNOW you aren't supposed to do) but I have to right now because she's picking up fleas so bad right now. So i could really use some immediate help from other ferret owners.

If your going to use dish soap use DAWN ONLY. All the others are very bad for your ferret's skin and digestive system. They do make ferret flea shampoo and sprays. Petsmart carries them. If you can't find them there the shampoos that are safe for KITTENS are safe for ferrets, do not use cat drops on ferrets. You can also get Diatomaceous earth from a farm and feed store or garden store. This can be used on the ferret, bedding, carpet whatever. It is not toxic to anything so use it as much as you want. Make sure to avoid face of the ferret so as not to get it in nose or eyes.

This is safe & effective. Sometimes the old school methods are still the best. Stick with the food grade stuff only.
