How can I get noticed by my dance/ colorguard instructor?
This year, I would like to get a solo part for the field show for marching band. I really would like a solo, but am mostly a dancer and am pretty average in skills with flag and rifle. I have been building up my flexibility in hopes it will help me on my quest, and I am close to the splits and will probably have a back fold (contortion) by November. How can I get them to notice me?

Work on your skills with the flag and rifle. They're not going to give a solo to a person with just okay skills in that area if they can give it to a person with great skills in that area.
