  • How can I stop my dog from barking?

I have never had a barky dog until now, so I have no experience with it. According to my roommates, she doesn t bark when I am not home, but when I am, she barks at the door, and passers by and the two roommates she is not as fond of. They swear she is silent when I am not home, and my friend who pet-sat her when I was away on holiday told me she never barked while I was away.

  • Should my mother more strict, or am I being unreasonable?

I think my family's dynamics need re-adjustment. My 14 y/o brother is entitled, occasionally violent and very disrespectful of everyone in our household, especially our mom. When he doesnt get his way or sees that I get different freedoms than he does (I'm three years older and have different restrictions/freedom:ei. my mother treats me more like an adult than him), he raises his voice and 2/3 times, he physically pushes her around. My relationship is also complicated. Due to my father's psychological and previous physical abuse, I don't have any relationship with him even though we live together (I have panic attacks in situations I even accidentally have to talk to/be around him) My brother uses this as a threat(he threatens to call him down). Of course, I make it appear as I just brush it off, and I do my best to ignore his antics. He disrespects me by calling me a *****/other names, messing with my stuff ect. I also have a dog (a gift. I've always been finacially and otherwise responsible for) , that dislikes him (though my brother adores her). He gets to me by bothering her, screaming at her and feeding her (only mom and I are allowed to feed her at all--her digestion is very sensitive). When I've had enough, I let him know, and get my mum to 'stop him'. She only tells him off, and he whines and ignores her. Sometimes he pushes her around when he is told 'no'. She is usually unable to get him to stop at all. Should my mom be more responsible for him?

  • My periods are still irregular, and I am concerned.?

I began menstruating in the month of July before grade 7 (I am currently in 10th grade) and have had probably only have had around seven to nine periods in that span (I've only had one this year, so far). I am also much more underdeveloped physically when compared to my peers. I have listen to what I was taught in health class and so I've waited for three years for things to even out, and my periods are still very unpredictable.

I am at this point, concerned. I know that excess hair is a sign of too much testosterone, and I have some unwanted, darker hair around my lip--not quite like a guy's hair, but dark enough to be noticed by others, and on my stomach. Could I have too much testosterone? Could it be affecting my menstruation issues?

  • How can I get noticed by my dance/ colorguard instructor?

This year, I would like to get a solo part for the field show for marching band. I really would like a solo, but am mostly a dancer and am pretty average in skills with flag and rifle. I have been building up my flexibility in hopes it will help me on my quest, and I am close to the splits and will probably have a back fold (contortion) by November. How can I get them to notice me?

  • What is a good career path for me?

I have a bit of an internal conflict. I really love theatre, and am an okay singer. I love to act, but I know a future in theatre is definately not for me. I am a fair actress especially.because I have "lived" more than many people my age (I've been rich and I have been dirt poor, I traveled extensively, I know the delight from clicking with a certain thing, whether its kayaking or watching theatre. I know what loss is like, and I have lived in fear )

I am a colour guard (I spin flags and other apparatus) and through that, I learned that I really love attention and spinning.

I also love designing clothes (particularly haute couture), and I carry my design book everywhere.

I wanted to be a surgeon for about 3 monthes and changed.my mind when I considered.the time.I would have to study and the costs and also how i dont really want to do the job (I'm not afraid of blood, or cutting people open though)

The big problem for me is that I am asian and my parents will not support me if I don't choose lawyer, doctor or dentist ect. Just thinking about those careers makes me feel like my insides are being drained. I am at the top of my class, so school work.is not a problem; its the fact that I might be missing out on life's real experiences. I don't love studying as much as learning and acting and design. I also want to be able to prove ro my parents that I dont have to be a lawyer or.anything like that to live a well funded life. (The subject of many lectures is that becausr they worked so hard to.give us a stable financial base, we have to work to raise us higher up)

I cant just ignore them; they are my parents.

  • How do you design a cube toy?

I really want to make myself a cube toy template. I wanted one of a coffee mug (don't ask) but was unable to find one. I know nothing about graphic designing and don't have any softwares for it.

What I mean by cube toys is a paper crafted cube/cuboid that looks like this: http://whipup.net/2009/01/28/cube-craft/

Please give me easy directions--I am not good with work of this kind!

    Thank you!

  • How do I keep my dog from running away?

Until a months ago, my dog never ran out the doors, even though they were wide open for long periods of time. I used to be able to leave her sitting infront of the door and shovel the snow and she would stay put. Now, she walks out and runs far away (she doesn't bolt, it's more.of a saunter) and we have to go out and find her. She comes back eventually, and if we chase her down and call her name. I've had her for three years (since she was a pup) and the only thing we have changed is bringinghr on more car rides and taking her with us when there are people who want to view the house, and her escapades began as soon as we started taking her out so often.

The obvious thing to do is keep the door closed, but my dad refuses to do so. He has a silly belief that if you yell at her for running out each time we have to catch her, she will stop. I'm pretty sure if my dog feels threatened she will never come back, so what do I do??? I cant stop her/ watch her, because this happens a lot when I am at school or lessons and the people on my street have a tendancy to speed around!

  • I'm a vegatarian and I unknowingly ate meat. How do I stop feeling guilty?

Ok, so I was eating this soup with kimchi, which my mom told me was "clean" ( meaning there is no shrimp brine ect.). Anyway, as I chewed, I noticed something with a meaty texture and realized that there was meat. Now I realized I was eating some animal's family member who probably wasn't treated nicely before it died. And that I helped keep the meat industry going. Is there some cleansing ritual or something I can do? I have only been vegatarian for 3 years, is there something I've missed?

  • Why does a dog's fur change colour?

Hi, I have a bichon shih tzu mid who is around 2-3 years old. Until she was about 7 months old, she had shih tzu fur. What I mean by that is that her fur was only a little bit wavy and had the colouring of a shih tzu. After she turned about 7 months old though, her fur started to grow more wavy and turned almost completely white. Now, she is still white but the large patches of tan color seem to be returning ( about 10-15% of the hairs are tan now instead of white). Is this normal? I've heard of dogs that don't have their final "coats" until later in life (silver poodles, Dalmations), but my dog changed in a different way than i've seen before. Also, does anyone know why this fur change occurs?? Thanks for helping me!
