How can I teach myself flute?
I have taken flute lessons for 5 years now, but I can no longer afford lessons. I want to continue to get better (I just started.on using vibrato) and I am a slower learner. I am a high school student, but am.unable to join band because It involves missing a lot of classes for it. How can I continue to go on? I really don't want to lose progress

omg I play flute and I love it soo much :D haha but I've played flute since 7th grade, and I'm going to be in 10th grade, still continuing with it. So, I feel like it would be kind of hard to forget, if you have 5 years experience already. But since you can't join the band, you could try staying after school in the band room? asking the schools band teacher for some help?

Talk to some teachers and see who would be willing to have you come in every other week or once a month. That way you will still have someone who can catch you before you practice in too many bad habits. You really shouldn't try to do it all on your own. Be flexible with your lesson time; work around your teacher's regular weekly schedule.
In between lessons, you'll really need to practice. Find something that you can use to record yourself and listen to yourself as if you were teaching another person. Maybe you'll hear something you don't hear as you're practicing. Good luck.
