How do I teach an old dog?
My dog isnt really that old (3) and she used to come at her name, But she doesnt anymore. She comes at the sound of a fridge. She will sit and lie down at hand signals, but I want to teach her basic obedience. My family feeds her table food, if she begs, even if I ask them not to so that she will stops. How do I do this?

Three is NOT old. Regardless, she needs some obedience. Structured classes are best, and also good motivation for the owner to actually do the training rather than feel silly at the next class in front of his classmates. However, if you can't afford that, then there are lots of websites and Youtube videos to teach you how to train the dog at home.

3 years old is not old. There's no reason you can't teach the dog to come to you reliably.
Obedience training never stops. Just because you think a dog knows a command doesn't mean you stop practicing it.

Lots of patience and persistence. the hardest part is making the family stop the feeding at the table. Some table scraps are fine, But not at the table. Wait till the meal is finished then feed the dog away from your dining area. give it lots of encouragement and an occasional treat when it comes to it's name. Did I mention Lots of patience and persistence. you have to train yourself as much as your dog.

find a quiet place with few distractions and just try and get your dog to listen to you, do it regularly, stay patient and dont get cross, be clear with commands and reward good behaviour. you will build up a bond in time and it will get easier
