Canadian drinking age question??

I am an Alberta resident, where drinking age is 18, and I am going to my cousin s for her birthday in BC where the drinking age is 19. Can I bring any wine that I buy in Alberta? I don t plan on getting wasted, but I also don t plan on being completely sober.

You can bring it in but if you get caught, you will have to pay the consequences for doing something illegal in BC. Tell me, is one lousy bottle of wine worth risking a criminal record over?

BC drinking laws apply to you the moment you cross the border. It doesn't matter what the age is in Alberta because Alberta specific laws are not enforced outside the province. So in short, no, you can't drink in BC at 18.

if you are 18 or younger, no. the prohibition is against possession of alcohol, not just buying it
