How to find the equation of a line X distance/parallel to another line?
I'm working on an image generator and I have the equation of one line (actually 2 points on that line). Can someone tell me the most efficient way to take 2 points to find the equation of a line parallel to that line but X distance away?
I'm guessing it'll involve a square root since there should be 2 lines (one in each direction).

If you only have two point then increment the y or x coordinate of both points by amount n, n being the distance you want between the two parallel lines, and you have a new parallel line. Of course if you increment both y and x the same amount you'll have the same line.
