NOTHING HAPPENED AND NOT PLANNING TO DO THIS.
But I've heard a lot.... Elderly women slipped and said she will file lawsuit, but don't want to go through so much things... just give her $1,000 - CASH.
Also heard a lot.... that if friends come over to my house and stepped on a nail or got hurt at my house, they can sue me...
then can I sue the store for selling me an over-due Cheeto Chip (like 1-2 month past due) and I ate some of the cheeto, realizing it is not the right flavor and found out the due date!!!
Answer all 3 questions if possible. Real answers. Thanks.

Anyone can sue anyone else. Winning in court is a whole nother matter though. Some people go through life looking to be involved in "accidents" just so that they can sue or threaten to sue in hopes of getting settlement money. If the store decides not to give in and presses the issue, those people could end up having to cover the store's expenses in defending themselves.
Expiration dates are printed on those bags of chips so that consumers can see if they're expired or not. If you didn't bother to look at it, you can't expect the store to check it for you. Do you also want them to change your diaper for you too?

Yes you can file a claim against the store if your fall was due to their negligence, and was within their building parking lots don't count. Yes if someone gets hurt within your property lines they can sue you. No if the cheetos are outdated you can't sue, but you can return them to the store, or in some cases the manufacturer may replace them. Now foreign objects in food, or substances that have found to cause an illness it could result in a possible suit. The fact is this is america you can sue for anything, and many people have won some lawsuits over pretty ridicolous things.

Yea you can sue. Best method in my experience is to open up some canola oil, spill a little bit on a tile by all the bottles and leave the aisle for like 10 minutes. then go back and 'slip' on the place where the oil spill was all the while rubbing your hands together to the bank.
Hey, might as well give him some answers right? After all, this is Yahoo Answers, not Yahoo Moral Debate.

it depends on a lot of things. Like was there a wet floor sign? if there was, good luck winning. Also, were you taken to the hospital, was anything broken? if not, just get back up and keep walking, you were clumsy.
your third question is simple- check the due date. Once you buy it, it's your responsibility to make sure that food is not expired. If you find that out before you buy it, it should be the grocery store's responsibility, but after ownership changes hands, so should the responsibility.

Just be the better person, take the fault, forget about the incident.
