What are MGOTW (Men Going Their Own Way)?

MGTOW describes a philosophy whereby men have decided that there isn't enough benefit in relationships with women and too much risk or other adverse effects to pursue women.

They range from those who still occasionally have casual sex and those that may venture into light relationships, to men who have categorically sworn off women, and instead pursue outdoor activities, friendships with other men, reading, and yes, videogames.

The reasons why a man might GHOW, but most stem from the treacherous legal system men often have to deal with, coupled with a behavioral shift in women which these men find unappealing.

They also are not interested in making much money than they need to live comfortably, with the reason being that more income means more taxes paid into a system which they perceive is hostile to men in general

And, to answer your second question WGTOW are known as "cat owners"

From what I've gathered from the MGTOWs I've argued with (I'll say more about this in a second), they are men who have decided to reject the traditional values which dictate relations between men and women in society.

I guess the most obvious of these...is that they outright reject the idea of marriage...however it does seem to go a little deeper than that in my view, which is why I tend to find them too vitriolic. In my experience, it seems like some of the most outspoken MGTOWs view women as having a parasitic impact on the lives of men...and so even the basic idea of trust in a woman seems like something these MGTOWs discourage.

Now what does that mean? That was the biggest source of frustration for me because I found that when I tried to discuss that with the MGTOWs I engaged with, they were deceptively vague. They seemed better at using language that obscured what they stood for than they were at actually clarifying what they stood for.

They'd talk about how men are betrayed even by their Mothers, and then when I would conclude that they believed that they were better off without any relationships (whether romantic, parental, fraternal or even platonic) with women, they back off that and tell me 5 things to challenge that conclusion, and then 50 that seemed to confirm it.

"So it's basically celibacy?"

From what I've understood, not necessarily.

For some of them, if they wish to engage in sexual congress with a woman, I believe a majority of them believe that that's okay...they just will refuse to give the woman any capacity to have power over themselves. Meaning...it really would be just sex, and once it was over, they'd have nothing more to do with the woman.

That would suggest to me that they'd be more open to engaging with sex positive women or possibly prostitutes, though I don't know this for a fact. What I do suspect however is that they'd be up front with the woman, and let her know that it is only just sex, and after it's over, it's over.

People don't own land and land doesn't own people. The world just is and as far as we know always has been, we weren't here in the beginning. The earth and all the land are our superior. In my view I see it as the earth practically gave birth to us, and as everyone knows, no child owns their parent and no parent owns their child. Pretty much once humans developed their brain, they came up with the conclusion that the world belongs to us and since we need and want land, and need and want money, lets take the land and buy and sell it. I hate how people can tell you that you can't go through a field of flowers because its 'private property', and other restrictions they place on land. And further more, we don't deserve this earth. We pollute it in thousands of ways, put our garbage inside it, destroy all its forests, clean it dry of natural resources. Yeah there are the few such as myself who do our best to recycle, volunteer, go all green, ect ect, but there isn't enough. People who think they can own land don't know its true value and disgust me.

As explained above, but it can be examined by different perspectives. Many MRAs wouldn't like MGTOW (just noticed spell check doesn't underline it. cool) because it breaks off the solidarity between men.

In my perspective and people who associate with my beliefs, we see it as defeatism and almost even cowardly. There still is a way to play the Game while avoiding the traps, but MGTOW want to shut off the game and go in their little corner. Not my style.

A group of men who want nothing to do with women, aside from mentioning them in every other thread on their forums.

Not much different from loud women and their audience on different talk shows who claim to have given up on men, yet the topic of every other show has something to do with men.

They are a seperatist group, and similar to the MRA's, spread the idea that society is biased against men, not women. They whine and complain about women and vocally protest the unfair treatment of men. However, rather than actually do anything to help change societal biases against men, through implementing programs and campaigns to promote awareness of mens issues, such as domestic violence against men, their strategy is to stay away from women altogether. Seperatist, or break-way groups from Feminism are of lesbian origin, or membership.
