There is not much difference between these words, but they tend to be used in different circumstances.

Remuneration is the compensation that one receives in exchange for the work or services performed. Typically, this consists of monetary rewards, but a number of complementary benefits, are increasingly popular as remuneration. It's more of a reward than a wage or salary, and might even be a one-off.

Wage and Salary are nearly identical. But a wage is paid by an employer to an employee. It may be calculated as a fixed task based amount, or at an hourly rate, or based on an easily measured quantity of work done.

By contrast, salaried work is based on a fixed time period and with commission which is based on performance.

White-collar workers tend to have a "salary" whereas labouring classes would have a "wage".

For all intents and purposes, they mean the same. A consultant is not usually a member of the staff of any particular company, so he wouldn't collect salary or wages. You can give a consultant remuneration and the remuneration would be his fee.
