is seafoam safe to use on my truck?

I have a 1996 Silverado 305 with 167k miles and I was planning on putting seafoam in the vacuum line that goes to the brake booster. I'm just a little worried. Is it safe?

Not really safe, but the main concern is for letting the Seafoam go in so fast that it hydrolocks the engine. As long as it goes in very slowly it is safe enough in terms of engine damage. Seafoam has been known to bend connecting rods, especially in Honda engines, essentially ruining the engine.

I am not a fan of Seafoam. It is today's Marvel Mystery Oil. It has no actual purpose for which it is the best choice. For cleaning intakes any sensor safe spray is far better (Seafoam leaves an oily film that causes trouble), and for cleaning deposits out of combustion chambers Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner is better in every way - price, ease of use, safety to the engine, and effectiveness. If you use top tier gasoline brands regularly there is no need for fuel injector cleaning.
