Can someone give me some advice on fishing for carp?

Hi, I live in Wisconsin and there's a river near my house that empties out into Lake Michigan so I'm assuming that there are carp in it. Will nightcrawlers be a good bait? Also, how big do these fish get and do they put up a strong fight? Is this a schooling fish? Meaning, if I don't get any bites for a while I should move to another spot?

Nighcrwalers are not your best option. Try using sweetcorn or dough balls as bait instead.Carp are easily startled and may or may not be in schools. Try bottom fishing for them also. Carp can grow to be 100+pounds and can.commonly be fiund being 5-30 poumds. And yes, they do put up a big fight. Also carp fisging requires patience. You could not get a bite for hours simply because the fish are not hungry. Good luck
