how do you log into a wireless internet router when you dont have the username and password?

my house mate set up internet but she keeps booting me off, i wondered whether there was a way to get the password and username so i can get control?

    If you can connect to the router using a LAN cable rather than wi-fi and you know the IP address for the router you may be able to log on to the settings page, assuming the admin password for the router is still still the default password e.g. admin for the username and admin for the password. You could then change the password for the wi-fi (the setting should be on the same screen that allows you to change the name of your wi-fi aka the SSID), but be careful not to change any other settings (there should also be a password for your ISP to connect to their network so you have internet access, so don't change that).

    If you want the admin log on details for the router, you could reset the router (should have a reset button) and set it up again with your own credentials, but you would likely need the settings from your ISP to set the router up again to connect to the internet.
