LOL, there ain't much oil there.
7 reasons to stay away from Syria
1) internecine conflict, non of our business
2) no viable ally to support on either side
3) no strategic or national security interest there
4) Lack of Islamist gratitude when US saves helps Muslims in the past (Kuwait, Kosovo, etc)
5) Islamists violating internatinal/humanitarian values.....again...."shocker"
6) Obama wants to save face after ad-libbing "red-line" comment (too little, too late-see above)
7) the heavy lifting required to actually "fix" this situation and "do the right thing" (as opposed to messing around and potentially opening up a can of WW3 worms for little or no gain) would never
garner enough enough support AND may not be logistically/strategically possible.

The west gets "very little" oil from Syria. But, what happened to all that "Bush" oil that we had supposedly "Gone to War" for? Another line of lib BS!

Not really, they export about 263K / day. Just about none of which goes to the US. In fact, they are not in the top 15 providers to the US market. their entire output would fuel the US for about 13 hours.
I Find it interesting that they can never in recorded history do anything but fight amongst themselves, and spill their problems over their borders.

You mean Obama wants to start a war over Oil? Like Bush?
I thought he was attempting to get Syria to shoot at our ships. Like LBJ did to start his portion of the Viet Nam war . . .

Not really. It is not that much. And, inasmuch as the USA is now an exporter, we would not have any interest. Now the region would. But not us.
