LMFAO! I had the idea, "You f*** me, we go together." Fifteen years later, *shows rings on left hand*...

Source(s): He liked it...he put a ring on it. Uh oh uh uh oh *dances*

It depends on the relationship. Someone may ask the other if they'd like to "go steady," or "get serious." Some may ask the other to be their boyfriend or girlfriend officially. You may just start referring to each other as boyfriend or girlfriend and assume seriousness at that point.

When I first started dating my fiance I remember we were casually talking one day and just brought it up, something like "so, does that mean we are boyfriend and girlfriend now?" He said yes, he'd like that. That was after a month and a bit of dating. We've been together almost 6 years now.

Edit: It also depends on your definition of seriousness. I didn't consider us as having a solid, meaningful and committed relationship until about the one year point. You have to give yourself time to really know the person well, and have them know you well, before you can feel like it's a secure for sure thing.

Well me and my bf were dating for like 4 weeks and then he asked if I just wanted to be his gf and now we have been together for over a year.

That depends on the point in which it turns from lust into love, when you don't get burnt out on each other's company and life stories, and you know that you want to spend the rest of your lives together.

When the bun in the oven is done, it is probably a good time to start asking yourself if you are serious...
