Serious nuclear energy question?

We have nuclear facilities all over the US and the world for that matter. I have been hearing a lot of the power grid and how fragile it is becoming. We have thousands of folks who are preparing for some type of grid down scenario. The govt is planning a scenario this fall. Here is my question, if the grid goes down or say some type of terrorist attack happens, how do we keep those nuclear facilities cool? If there is no power, and the battery generators cannot be refueled, then what? Are all those preppers, preparing for nothing? The reactors will blow if they aren't continuously cooled.

No it's not a problem some of the stations can do what is called islanding, that is they stay online but not connected to the grid and supply their own power demands.

Apart from that they all have back up diesel generators, the problem with Fukushima was that their diesel generators were badly placed at ground level and got knocked out by tsunami.

In addition to backup generators, Newer reactors are designed to cool without power if needed.
