How can you disbelieve a religion if you weren't a believer once?

Simple. Religions are based on a god being true (theism).

I know no gods exist due to the complete lack of evidence for any one of them.

Therefore religions must also be false, based as they are on the one known falsehood.

The problem for so many "former believers" is they were

trying to hitch a ride on someone else's experience . . .

be that their parents' religious tradition, the enthusiastic

assurances of a church leader or their chief evangelists,

or based solely on an objective view of a version of Bible

doctrine that may range from erratic to total gobbledygook.

The Christian faith was intended to be based on subjective

experience of the person converted by an act of the Spirit.

God Himself initiates that in His elect, drawing them to a

sound faith in Jesus Christ that is grounded in His Spirit

and evidenced by the working of gifts of the Spirit.

For those who are so sure none of this is true ~ that's fine

because you're not intended to "believe" by any other way.

If you were born in any non-biblical religion or in an atheist family, and you read the Bible, the bizarre nature of the strange book would stand out. The cruelty, tyranny, terrorism, and barbarity would be so prevalent that you would recoil and not be able to imagine that God could be a sadomasochist, thus it is either myth or a lie. Even the Bible that talks about God makes it impossible for that particular God to exist.

all children born are atheist. it is the standard default for all humans. children are indoctrinated into religion either through their parents and family or through a school they were put in. asking questions is a good way to get answers and religion does not have all the answers. in fact it doesnt have any answers...

I'm sorry, but how does that question make any kind of sense? If you never believed in any religion you can't disbelieve religion?

I'm sure you gave thousands of religions equal time before settling on the one your parents raised you to believe.
