Something is growing on my shrimp, HELP?

Lately my Bamboo Shrimp has been hiding in his cave for awhile. I wasn't able to see him since it was so dark but now that he's come out I see little.. pieces of something on his back. It looks a lot like the stuff that grows on my fake plants when I don't clean the tank for awhile. What should I do, if I quarantine him in a regular bowl, I won't have a heat source to keep him warm.

Sounds like he is growing algae on him. I have seen bamboo shrimp in stores like that before, they seem ok, but I would keep up on tank cleaning.
