Why does Calvin Harris or David Guetta never SING in a song?
Right now I am listening to the radio and "Sweet Nothing" is on...I love it! But for the artist it says, "Calvin Harris/Florence Welch. Umm...I ONLY hear a woman singing! Same goes for other songs like, "Titanium" and "I Need Your Love." Only Ellie Goulding sings in there. Why do they credit these guys umm they are not singing? I don't know please someone inform me. Thank you!

There's more to songs than just the singing. Artists that write/produce the songs also need to get some credit. Musicians such as Calvin Harris make the beats, Write the songs, and put it all together. Just because they aren't singing on the track does not mean they don't deserve credit. Same goes for the other artist and songs. Titanium and I need your love were both made by DJ's and the singing came on later. It would be a shame for the person who made the beat, and wrote the song, and produced it to not get credit (although this does happen quite often in other circumstances)

Because they aren't singers. They are Dj's, songwriters and music producers.
They are given credit, they are listed as the artists even though they don't sing.

Is this a serious question or...?
They just produce the music or whatever the heck. Neither can probably sing anyways so be glad they don't.

Calvin Harris sings on most of his earlier songs though. but yeah he writes the songs and then gets other people to sing on them, or he just writes the basis of it, like how it'll sound etc and then they write it.

Pretty much for ever, the singer got the credit for making a song work. Not to say that all involved aren t talented but their songs wouldn t be what they are or were if it weren t for the singer. The singer should be the name associated with the song.

Try Nelly he is the king of R and B and also look up weekend wars and congradulations by mgmt if you dont already know those songs already. Led Zeppelins also my favorite band i can tell you kind of like classic rock.

They're electronic artists, duh. They produce the music, and often a vocalist will accompany them
