So im planning to visit muir beach possibly in september sometime.
its a beach... so its open year round right?
also is there a park near it? ive tried looking up some things, but its confusing

Muir Woods is nearby. Almost every beach in California is public. It is closed until November. The beaches in northern California are too cold for swimming.

It's closed for restoration and should open by Thanksgiving 2013. Muir Beach is a National Park.
