Toyota Avalon high idle?

Hello, i have a '95 Avalon that idles high, especially first thing in the morning. Now will a hole in my flex pipe be the cause of this? Its not pin size and not quite golf ball size, but big enough to let you know its there. Although i already plan on getting this fixed, im just wondering if there is anything else that may be the root of the issue. Other than that, she's smooth as silk, thnx

You have a FEW issues here! first of all you have a dirty IDLE AIR CONTROL valve that is UPSETTING your idle! when this happens you are ALSO WASTING GAS and making HOLES in your EXHAUST SYSTEM as well! TAKE $20 -30 to ANY OIL CHANGE PLACE and get the THROTTLE BODY and the IAC valve cleaned up to SHOWROOM CLEAN! the IAC responds to O2 sensor signals to add MORE AIR to the INJECTED FUEL! This affects IDLE SPEED< power and economy! Once the IAC is cleaned up go to SEVERAL WELD SHOPS nad have the HOLE repaired in your exhaust SYSTEM! A LEAK will cause your O2 sensor to give FALSE Readings, and then it will CAUSE a bad FUEL MIXTURE that wil make MORE HOLES in the EXHAUST DAMAGES! USE either BOSCH or DENSO iridium plugs for the MOST pwoer and economy! A LEAK int eh exhaust wil RUIN yoru AIR/FUEL mixture over time and CONFUSE the IAC valve! get a MOTOR FLUSH< and then use MOBIL ONE 0W-30 oil to get MORE MILEAGE and prevent SLUDGE for being made inside the engine! GOOD LUCK!

Source(s): WELD THE HOLE SHUT! go to a FEW weld shops and make SURE the leak is GONE! Use MAGAUTO for CHEAPER PARTS for your exhaust or ROCKAUTO! Be SURE to change your TIMING BELT at 100k miles! ROCK AUTO and MAGAUTO have GREAT prices for this job! GOOD LUCK!!
